This email was received from Evelyn, a craftsman's wife in Scotland :

Good Morning Ric,

I have just read about your Company on your website and I just want to tell you a little story !!

My name is Evelyn, I live in Scotland . I have worked all over the world and about 6 years ago my company shipped me out to Jacksonville , Florida for a year. My husband Bob came with me, he is a bricklayer, an excellent tradesman, and very proud of it ! He recently realized a lifelong dream of building a home for us.

He worked while we lived in Jacksonville and met a great guy called Gus. You may already know this, but bricklaying, like many other trades, is different all over the world, and Bob loved to exchange ideas and stories with Gus. But the most exciting thing that Gus introduced him to was a THE HUBBARD JOINTER. Obviously Bob had used jointers before but nothing like this ! Unfortunately, we had to come back to the UK at short notice and Bob didn't get the chance to buy one. He has been singing the praises of THE HUBBARD JOINTER ever since and has been scouring the country and asking fellow bricklayers to try and find one, but no luck. I can tell you he has had some very strange looks when he tried to explain to various hardware stores what THE HUBBARD JOINTER looked like.

Anyway, few weeks ago I asked my brother, who lives in California , to see if he could find THE HUBBARD JOINTER for Bob. Well, the phrase "kid in candy store" and "it was like Christmas morning" came to mind when he opened the package last week. He practically skipped to work the next day, that was something to behold for a 54 year old. He proudly took it out of his tool bag and started to use it and the buzzword went round the site......... the other bricklayers were like bees around a honey pot ! They all agree that your father's invention is fantastic and where can they get one ? He wasn't telling them !!

So, when I read your story on your website about the China imitation and the challenges you have been having, I wanted you to know how happy your father's invention has made one bricklayer who lives thousands of miles away.

I hope your father continues to enjoy good health in his retirement and that you continue to make a great product. You now have the knowledge that you've made one Scottish bricklayer very happy !!.

Thank you......
Kind Regards,
Eve

PS If you ever think of distributing to Europe then give me a call.

This email was received from Ron Turston, a bricklayer in Toronto , Ontario :

My name is Ron Thurston, I have been using your jointers for about four years now, and still working with the same barrels from two years ago. I had got my Hubbard Jointer form my dad (I don't think that he knows I have it so we won't tell him). I thought that I'd drop you a line and tell you what a great product you have. I'm always trying to convince other bricklayers to get out of the stone-age and go buy a Hubbard. Your jointers do a much better job than the Marshelltown jointers which wear out in about 1 month. I have a few convinced but they are hard to find. If you could please send me a list of dealers in the Toronto , Ont. , Canada area I would really be thankful. Keep up the good work so that I can do the same.

This email is exactly as it was received from Mr. Anthony Zezima from Tulsa , Oklahoma , I couldn't say it better myself:

Hello Rick

My name is Anthony Zezima I am a second generation Italian here in Oklahoma .

My family came from Italy in 1915. We are a family of brick layers from the old country. I have been a brick layer for 8 years now. I labored for 5. I work for Mid-Continental Restoration Co., Masonry Division. We are a 28 million dollar company, in masonry, we are rank # 12 in the country. If it whould help I'd like to see that every brick layer and tuck pointer gets and uses the Hubbard. I have purchased a qlt barrel jointer and the desighn is flawed, the handle digs into the mud joint far more often than the Hubbard design.

Please send me a catalog with your products and I'll see to it you have a decent order and repeat business\ as a brick layer I can tell you I never go anywhere with out my hubbard sled runner and jointer they are an owesome product .... to heck with the knock off QLT made by ******* ****.

Thanks Anthony Zezima

One more email from William Thompson, a bricklayer in the U.K. :

I wrote to you within the past year, but have misplaced the info. you sent to me. I am living in the U.K. and am trying to find a distributer of your jointer. Everyone I run into likes the feel of the jointer, especially when I mention that I have been using the same 2 barrels for over three years running now. (no pun intended). Would it be more benefitial to order them directly from you, or from your agent here in England ? And if you would prefer to ship them directly, then just let me know the total cost, and I will make ready a payment for delivery. thank you. Just thought I'd mention that on a recent visit to Canada I was looking for your jointers in the hardware shops, but could only find those cheap Chinese imitations, which, like you mentioned on your home page, are really an inferior product. Total cheap garbage, to be honest. Aint nothing like the real thing................
